This past week’s episode of Dollhouse made up for the slow build of the first few episodes. And like any good show of the last few years its aleady been canceled.

I guess there is a chance that another network would pick it up… but I am guessing probably not…So next week’s episode is the last.

If you haven’t heard… there is an “extra” episode that may or may not make to air, that was made becase the original pilot episode was so terrible it was determined to be unable to air. So if that was the case why did FOX pick the show up in the first place??

I am not sure what Network TV is trying to do anymore…. Serial TV shows need weeks to build buzz and an audience. Why do they air something 2 times and then cancel it?? What’s the point of investing??

In today’s climate :

Would Dallas have made it to the point where the nation wondered “Who Shot JR?”; Would The X-Files have made it to the point where Scully got cancer?? Would Buffy the Vampire Slayer have made it to the point where there could be an Angel spin-off??

I can see how Reality TV really will be the future for Network TV. The cable networks (ie TNT, FX, AMC) really do seem to be building a better stable of serialized dramas.

I watched and I am not sure what I was expecting… but this is not the 90210 of my youth. It seems like it may have been a cross between The O.C. and Gossip Girl.

Perhaps I am confused because I identified with the older characters more than the teens… but I was giddy when Brenda ran up to Kelly at the redesigned-non-Peach Pit. :P

Kelly Taylor drives a Prius and has a kid (Dad MIA – more spec on this later)!
Brenda Acts!
Brandon was in some foreign country I can’t remember.
Andrea Zuckerman’s kid Hannah makes an appearance
Nat is at the non-Peach Pit
Kelly and David’s sister Erin is a regular (that goes by Silver)… and Kelly’s original MOM makes an appearance next week! YAY!
No mention of Donna or Steve or Dylan ☹

So back to Kelly’s Kid. Name is Sam. If it was unequivocally Dylan’s I would think they would have named it Jack (after his Dad)… but I think this will be a big sweeps reveal based on which guy (Brandon or Dylan ) will agree to come back. Jason Priestley has stated that he may direct some episodes if they get picked up, but he will not just be stopping by the non-Peach Pit to pick up a mega-burger, he is also a regular on a series on LifeTime. Luke Perry has said no… he will not be back… perhaps if Aaron was still around. But, I wouldn’t be surprised if he does a 180… he’s got a child to support!

The 2 hour premiere was a bit too much I think… an hour would have been better… but I will be back next week!

I went to see the new movie this past Sunday with two friends. It was not terrible, but I thought the first movie was better. It did have some high points (I gave a little cheer at something near the end – if you want to know ask in comments and I’ll post it there… so as not to spoil anyone). It really stayed away from aliens and conspiricy (Mulder’s sister was mentioned.. as was William).

I couldn’t remember what happened to William at the end of the TV servies, admittedly once Duchovony left I only sporadically watched, but in case you are wondering William was adopted.

A few months ago I picked up the complete DVD box set (when Amazon had a 50% off sale) and will watch the entire thing from beginning to end, once I finish Buffy the Vampire Slayer (2 more seasons to go)!

and it WAS weird to see Scully with long hair…

Yay!! One step closer to FIOS installation!

Verizon laid the cable at the end of March along the main road leading to my subdivision. Last night I had my HOA meetinng and FIOS installation was on the agenda (Because I put it there! :P ). Once Verizon begins officially offering the service they will need to send the installation schema to the management company and then the board will need to approve.

The FIOS tv offering looks to be great (especially the HD channnels), but now that Comcast fixed my servide problems with a new dvr/cablebox ( with dual tuner!) I am not as in as much of a hurry to switch ( except to get away from Comcast’s excessive pricing!) especially now that Comcast announced they are adding Food Network and HGTV in HD on Aug 10!

I am mainly waiting for a good Verizon bundle that offers FIOS tv and internet along with broadband/VOIP phone service, so that I disconnect my Verizon landline service and then I get to have the fun of cancelling Vonage.
