Was Semin worth $6.7?  Probabaly not… but at times (especially from mid March on) he was the best forward on the ice (even NBC announcers were touting it…. if that doesn’t signal the end of times… I don’t know what does).  Was Laich worth $6.5?  You know I’m gonna say no…. especially at the end when the Caps were using Laich to center Ovi’s line  – regardless of what Laich’s agent spouts – he is not a 1C.  No matter…. Laich goes down to $4 mill per next season…. and it remains to be seen what Sasha signs for … and where.

I understand splitting up Backstrom and Ovi to keep them both away from Chara …. but lets hope that experiment is over  — Laich CAN win FO…. but he is NOT a playmaker. (Based on reports from this mornings practice the experiment doesn’t appear to be over).

Semin -

Its a push… Also Laich has the better playoff beard… but Sasha has the better playoff mullet :-)
