I thought my happiest moment was when I got my mom to sign-up for a Yahoo! email account (she had avoided it for years… but finally succumbed maybe 4 years ago)….

I hate talking on the phone… to anyone (really its not Personal :P ). I possibly hate it more than I hate Potluck Bitch. Email is my go to form of communication, but with my upgrade to the BlackBerry I have been becoming a fan of texting and IM (but I have been doing that for a while for work etc….). So if I can get some phone conversations eliminated due email (or txting) I am a happy camper! Now when my parents go away on vacation instead of the “We Made it!” call, I’ll get a “We made it!” email.

(Don’t believe me?…. I have the least amount of talk minutes available in a plan = 450. I have never broken 200 minutes in a month and am usually closer to 150 – and I do no have a landline in my house.)

Jump to last week… the ringtone on my BlackBerry plays that lets me know I’ve got an incoming IM. I checked the name. It was my mom! Yahoo! started embedding their chat program in their email page (like Google) and my mom saw me online and just sent me a quick note hoping that I was having a good day. :D

Today she IM’d me again… and we actually had a real back and forth chat!!! woohoo! :-)

Two of my friends have recently joined the CrackBerry train… so I thought I would give a run down of my favorite must have applications for your BlackBerry…

1)TwitterBerry - If you Tweet… TwitterBerry is a must!

2) Facebook for BlackBerry… this speaks for itself :P

3)Viigo - this is basically an RSS reader… you can subscribe to various channels ( I use it to kill time on the train… and to get my daily horoscope)

4) WeatherEye — Like WeatherBug… for your Berry… the icon changes based on the the current weather… it could be a big sun, moon, cloud, rain, snow…. its awesome!

5)Flickr uploader – if you have a camera on your BlackBerry and a Flickr account, this is a must

6)MapQuest Mobile – Need a portable navigation system? This is your answer…

I have had my BlackBerry Pearl for about a year… and if you know me you know I am never without it (because i’m addicted to it ). I take pics with it of random things… like Macy’s Birthday Cupcakes, my lunch, or my cat. I blog with it. I Tweet with it.

Well about a month or two ago I got an email that one of my photos had been submitted for inclusion in a City Guide called Schmap.

Yesterday I got the email that I had been included! My photo is from a Happy Hour with co-workers at Tortilla Coast in Capitol Hill! (So follow the link and scroll through the list until you see Tortilla Coast!)

So I woke up this morning, got ready and planned on taking a train that leaves 20 minutes later than what I normally take. As I was ready to head out I checked my BlackBerry and found an email from the MTA that PENN line service was suspended due to a fatality. So off I went to New Carrollton. Traffic was not bad and I actually made good time (I arrived before I would have if I had taken the later MARC train I was aiming for)…

This explains why a helicopter was hovering over the station.

PENN service has resumed.

I can’t wait to see how much its costs me to park! ( I don’t have a SmarTrip card because my monthly MARC pass includes unlimited Metro trips)

As I was having dinner on 6th Ave the night before the first MSG show I noticed people carrying Pinkberry containers! My friend and I decided that we would need to find Pinkberry tomorrow, as it must be right around the block. Then I decided that I could Google it on my Blackberry… which I did and discovered it was about a block away :)

Next day, we headed downtown in the afternoon to pick up 10Club tickets, then across town in search of Pinkberry!

I got a Pinkberry with Raspberries… they also have Green Tea and Coffee flavors (its basically frozen yogurt).

It was YUMMY!

So I have had my BlackBerry Pearl for about 4 months… and its awesome!

I use it to plan my schedule, keep lists of things to do, lists of books to get at the library, and keep track of email (4 so far…. looking to add one more work related account in the coming months!) . The best benefit of the email is the MARC train alerts in real time, so I know if my train is going to be late

Today I took another step into CrackBerry addiction… ringtones.

I of course looked for a Pearl Jam related ringtone about 3 months ago , but nothing good was free. So I almost gave up… until today while looking for something else I was directed to the CrackBerry site… and found a ringtone for Animal.

Then I decided to look for NKOTB ringtones… and they had a few… and now this one will play when ever my sister calls me

Then I found the best phone related ringtone evah!! – Jack Bauer in the house
