Last night I went to my 3rd Ladies Night at Nats Park, and this may have been the best one yet! It was an 80′s themed event… so there were plenty of people dressed in 80′s garb (not me… though I did wear my new hot pink cropped jeans).  Their was an 80′s themed band playing all hits from the 80′s…. So first up… you enter the happy hour tent… and SWAG!  This year we got this cute T-shirt….

Last year, they had pizza and chips as party food, but this year they went fancy and had some salad, asparagus, tomatoes, pita bread, some couscous salad, some type of fancy bruschetta with goat cheese, 1 free drink (beer or wine) chocolate fountain… and cupcakes!

Player appearances (Storen, Clippard, and Perry)… where you can get a pic taken with them – I passed on this :-)   Presidents made an appearance and then raffle time (no one in our group won anything… as usual).

It was a great night for baseball (rained both times last season) too bad the Nats lost.

So here is my annual list of projects that I want to get accomplished during the summer….  The wheels came off last years list even before it got off the ground… so hopefully better luck this year :D

  • Remove awning from above front door and have new awning/portico constructed
  • New storm door (this can only be accomplished once the awning is gone)
  • Replace the garage door.
  • Paint dining room (colors have been picked… so thats something :) )
  • Have the house duct work cleaned. (Groupon type thing has already been purchased… just need to schedule)
  • Get the lawn mower serviced (sharpen blade, change filter, change oil)  and hopefully get the self-propel self-propelling again…. Oh .. and technically the oil has been changed … because I had to add new oil when the mower wouldn’t start last week ;)
  • Oh… and finally get back to reading more… First up… The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo  (Cliche I know… but free :) )

Was Semin worth $6.7?  Probabaly not… but at times (especially from mid March on) he was the best forward on the ice (even NBC announcers were touting it…. if that doesn’t signal the end of times… I don’t know what does).  Was Laich worth $6.5?  You know I’m gonna say no…. especially at the end when the Caps were using Laich to center Ovi’s line  – regardless of what Laich’s agent spouts – he is not a 1C.  No matter…. Laich goes down to $4 mill per next season…. and it remains to be seen what Sasha signs for … and where.
