Picked up a Living Social deal for Brasserie Beck…. and if course it was set to expire soon…. so last week my friend C and I met there for dinner. Brasserie Beck is from the same chef that brings us Mussel Bar.
The inside of the restaurant is huge. There is a large bar area at the front, and around 7pm on a Wednesday night it was packed. We had reservations and were seated in the dining room right away.
I of course went with mussels…Fennel and Chorizo
They were awesome….served with Belgian Frites with 3 dipping sauces….
There was a mayonnaise-type sauce which I didn’t really like (but I am not a fan of mayo). A red sauce that I couldn’t determine what it was, and a 3rd mustard based sauce… that was my favorite.
Finally dessert. I’m not a big dessert person, and I usually don’t get it, unless something like Key Lime pie is on the menu…
But they had Creme Brulee, which is my favorite….
YUM. I think this was truly the best meal I have eaten in a long time…. I was practically in a food coma on the Metro ride home.
