Its always fun when you save an expiring Groupon for the last possible date…. and that’s exactly why I ended up at Tonic (in Foggy Bottom) last week for lunch.
I’ve been to Foggy Bottom a few times but only as a connecting point before heading to Georgetown. This time I headed in the opposite direction towards the GWU campus. I’ve never been to Tonic before, but I had heard good things. They have an outside patio area (where they were offering ‘half off drafts” because it was so crazy hot out, but even that couldn’t tempt me to sit outside), an upstairs dining area, and a main level bar area.
I started with the Peach Sangria – Pinto Noir/Chambord/Peach Schnapps/OJ/Pineapple – On the rocks… AWESOME!
For lunch I had the Blackened Salmon Caesar Salad – Romaine, shaved parmesan and parmesan croutons (with a big piece of Blackened Salmon on top). The salmon was cooked perfectly and the salad was very filling (though still left room for a stop by Pinkberry after ).
Cute place for lunch.
