A friend mentioned this place back in December when we were looking for a place for dinner, prior to a Caps game (of course
). We planned to check it out…. But when I went to open the door, it appeared to be locked. Odd (this was around 5pm…). So I continued on to Clydes.
Then last week I decided to give it another go…. after I picked up my TangySweet gift card….since I figured it would put me there definitely after 5pm…so they should definitely be open. Well, I walked up to the door, pulled it open…. except…. locked again. But since I saw people walk in before I crossed the street…. I figured something was up (like I’m an idiot
). Redline has double doors, so I pulled open the second one… and walked in. Redline doesn’t look like much from the outside – probably because the bar is actually upstairs. But once you get upstairs it looks like a great setup. Long bar on one end (smaller bar at the other) and then a pretty large dining area. Huge TVs, and a big scoreboard thing above the main bar.
So I sat at the main bar. No happy hour specials
But many beers on tap (and actually Redline’s big “thing” is some of the tables have their own beer taps.)
I ordered the Tuna Tartar Spring Rolls – Marinated Ahi tuna in a crispy rice paper served with soy bean coulis and Chef’s sauce . These were awesome. I could have eaten about 5 plates of them…. but they are a bit pricey for the small amount that you actually get…
Bartenders were quick and friendly
Definitely a good place to watch a game…. might be better if they had some specials …
