Many years ago I was part of a software development team and we used to get told all the time (by management) “The Rogue Development needs to stop!” And since I was a little worker bee that didn’t really see the big picture I didn’t get what all the fuss was about. People asked us to code something and we did it to help them…. we were being helpful 
Fast forward to now…. and yeah I get it. When you are trying to manage resources and track project progress its no fun when projects get snuck in and nothing is documented ….and no one really can communicate what the hell is going on :/
