I finally made my way to Good Stuff Eatery yesterday for lunch. (Mainly due my new addiction foursquare… since I have conquered all of SW that my office is close to… I am branching out.)
I went early to beat the lunch rush… its right next to the Cosi on Penn Ave SE… which I have driven by a few times. They have outdoor seating (ovbiously not utilized during this weather) You walk up to the counter and place your order (minor complaint… the music is cranked loud… I have no idea how the order taker heard me). They you are given a little buzzer so you can go off and wait for your order to be ready.
I ordered the Farmhouse burger (minus tomato) which I must admit was a bit small for the price compared to the burger that my friend ordered. I must admit burger-wise I wasn’t that impressed. (Five Guys wins that battle) I also ordered the Village Fries (they are the fries season w/ herbs) and there are a ton of them. These were great…. both with the Salt and Vinegar I added and the Old Bay Mayo dipping sauce.
There is ample seating upstairs along with about 3 or 4 wide screen TVs. They have Blue Moon and another beer on tap, along with a few varieties of bottled beer, which may give Good Stuff the edge over Five Guys. Due to the cold temps I passed on trying the shakes which I hear are great too….. so I guess it gives me a reason to go back. (Oh special note… they are closed on Sundays)

I think Ray’s Hell Burger in Arlington and BGR in Dupont sit firmly atop my burger hierarchy, but Good Stuff has the advantage of being close enough to run to for lunch on a workday…
My suggestion for improving the experience: get the wheat bun, it is so much better than the default white bun
It may just be my imagination, but it also seems like since I’ve discovered the wheat bun and also asked for Muenster cheese instead of American on the regular cheesburger that my burgers have been made with a bit more care…
thanks for the tips!
